Colonnade Inn

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

When you’re coming to Colonnade Inn and see the Old Victorian Building you’re probably making a first impression on how nice your stay would be there. Everything looks really familiar, nice atmosphere with a classic design, beautiful woodwork, antique furniture and lots of carpets that would make you feel like you’re in the 19th century.

If you’re going to see all rooms from the Colonnade Inn you will be amazed on how different and nice each one is. Probably choosing the one that you like the most it’s the hardest job. Even though it’s trying to recreate an atmosphere from the 19th century, each rooms has high-tech amenities that are blended perfectly with the classic design. You will enjoy sitting in a Jacuzzi tub, watching the antique fireplace. You will have a majestic view to the ocean, and you can browse the internet or watch your favorite movie show in the most elegant rooms you could imagine. Also, if you want to meet the other guests you can enjoy the spacious common area where you could drink your coffee and read your newspaper in the morning, or watch your favorite movies or any big game on a high definition big screen Tv.

Each new guest will receive complimentary maid service, coffee and baked goods every morning. You will probably enjoy every minute spent here at Colonnade Inn, even though you can’t bring your pet friends, or you can’t smoke inside, you will certainly be amazed on how nice is the atmosphere. Colonnade Inn has probably one of the best quality per price ratio, probably the most affordable place to stay in Sea Isle City, one of the few places that are open year round and it has one of the most flexible schedules. So, what are you waiting for? You’ll be amazed from the moment you visit us.

Charming Oregon Ski Vacations

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Oregon has always been famous for its ski slopes. If you do find yourself here for a ski vacation, make sure you stay at Timberline Lodge, Which is located near Mount Hood.  A master craftsman built the Lodge during the great depression. The Lodge was also used for the movie ‘The Shining’. This is a one of a kind lodge, having been built in its entirety by hand. There is a sense of history attached to this lodge, to go with it rustic charm.

Oregon has a 1400-acre ski property consisting of 35 trails.  The elevation at the top at Timberline Lodge is 8504 feet and it has a vertical drop of 2501 feet. There are six chair lifts for the skiers to use. A unique thing about Timberline is that it allows skiers the opportunity to ski all year round since Palmer Snowfield, which is a part of Timberline, has snow all year round. It must be kept in mind though, that owning to the conditions, beginners may not be allowed at certain times of the year.

Apart form skiing, the main attractions at Timberline are, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking and lodge tours. Mount Hood is considered to be a dormant volcano where tremors are occasionally felt and steam vents often visible.

Apart from the Cascade dinning room, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday, there are a number of other options where food is concerned. Ram’s Head Bar, the Market Café, the Blue Ox bar, the Wy’East Kitchen Cafeteria and the Mt. Hood Brewing Company are some of the other options for you to choose from.

Although there is a ski and snowboarding school where you can avail of private or group lessons, there is no rental equipment rental shop here. Certain smaller equipment and clothing can be purchased at the lodge though. Don’t forget to ride the Magic Mile, which offers a panoramic view of the Cascade Mountains.

If it’s all about the snow for you and you’re not keen on something too fancy, then the Oregon slopes is where you should be headed.
