What Is a Blog
Sunday, December 2nd, 2007If you’re new to the digital age and just starting to get interested in the world of the internet then one of the first things that you probably should know is what a blog is. Blogs are so prevalent throughout the internet that one is most likely to run into them virtually anywhere they go: business websites, political websites, private websites, as well as personal websites.
The idea of blogs, though, can take many forms. Perhaps one of the easiest ways to explain what a blog is, however, would be like a diary of sorts. That diary can either be public or private, allowing other people to read it or not. Usually, however, blogs are public just because of the fact that they are posted on the World Wide Web for everyone to see. There may be some options in the format that you’re using that will allow your blog to remain something that’s only for your eyes instead of the whole world. Many people still choose to do that, though, because it gives them a chance to have an online diary that will allow them to vent, if needed, as well as change things if need be before letting the blog go public to the World Wide Web.
What’s in a Blog?
Virtually anything can be in a blog that you’re working on. As mentioned, your personal blog can be like an online diary that you contribute to daily. On the other hand, a public blog may be for your business or company. In that case, the happenings of the company, including the history of the company, as well as the financial news of the company may be
included. In short, basically anything to do with the business that would seem important or not should be added to a business blog.
On the other hand, there are many other different types of blogs as well. Political blogs are an example that was mentioned above. A good example of a political blog would be one that a presidential candidate is keeping that tracks his or her progress throughout the campaign. In this way, the candidate is easily connecting to his or her supporters and
the supporters have continually updating news about him or her.
